The LGS Story in a Nutshell
Lahore Grammar School began its journey in 1979, when its first campus at 55 Main Gulberg, Lahore, opened its doors to a small group of students. What started as a modest initiative has since evolved into one of Pakistan’s most respected and far-reaching educational networks.
From the very beginning, LGS has been guided by a clear philosophy: to nurture well-rounded individuals through collaborative learning, critical and logical thinking, and a rich co-curricular experience. The goal has always been to cultivate curious minds, strong values, and a lifelong love for learning.
The school was founded during a challenging period for education in Pakistan. Following the nationalization of institutions, academic standards and facilities had noticeably declined. Recognizing the urgent need for meaningful reform, a group of eight women from diverse professional backgrounds came together in 1978 with a shared commitment to restoring quality and purpose to schooling. Their vision took shape in 1979 with the establishment of Lahore Grammar School, and these eight women today comprise the Board of Directors of LGS.
Today, LGS educates both boys and girls across the country, with campuses in major cities including Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, and Gujrat. Through its Landmark Schools, LGS serves middle-income families, while the Lahore Education Society School—fully funded and supported by LGS—extends access to quality education for students from lower-income backgrounds.
LGS offers both Cambridge and International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes, with teaching, assessment, and grading aligned to international standards.

The LGS Johar Town Story in a Nutshell
The Johar Town chapter of LGS reflects the vision, dedication, and leadership of Director-in-Charge and Co-Founder, Mrs. Samina Rahman.
In 1992, Mrs. Rahman established the boys’ campuses in Johar Town, beginning with a small building at 49 Civic Center and just over one hundred students. From these modest beginnings, the network grew steadily in response to the evolving needs of the community.
Today, the LGS Johar Town and OPF network serves more than 8,000 students across over nine campuses, educating both boys and girls and offering a complete academic pathway from the early years through senior school.
The junior campuses are authorized PYP schools, and at the secondary level students may choose between Cambridge and IB streams — ensuring both breadth and flexibility in their educational journey.

The LGS 308 C Block Story in a Nutshell
Our journey began in 2020 with the launch of an IGCSE programme at 254 F-1, widely known as the Fouquet Campus, named after its Head of School. Initially conceived as a focused two-year IGCSE initiative, the programme soon evolved into a broader academic pathway that extended naturally into the IB Diploma Programme.
While many students chose to transition into the Cambridge stream, others continued within the IB framework. With each passing year, enrolment grew steadily and additional sections were introduced to meet rising demand.
As the community expanded, so did the need for a larger, purpose-built space. This momentum led to our move to 308 C Block, marking the beginning of a new chapter — one defined by growth, possibility, and continued excellence.
